Important information

The details that keep this honest.

Important safety information

GLP-1 receptor agonists, including semaglutide (the active ingredient in branded products such as Wegovy® and Ozempic®), tirzepatide (Zepbound® and Mounjaro®), and liraglutide (Saxenda® and Victoza®), carry an FDA boxed warning for the risk of thyroid C-cell tumors, including medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC). These medications are contraindicated in patients with a personal or family history of MTC or Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia syndrome type 2 (MEN 2). Additional clinically significant warnings include acute pancreatitis, gallbladder disease, hypoglycemia (particularly when combined with insulin or sulfonylureas), acute kidney injury, and potential worsening of diabetic retinopathy in patients with type 2 diabetes. A Vayra physician will review your complete medical history, current medications, and family history before determining whether GLP-1 therapy is clinically appropriate.

About testosterone therapy at Vayra

Vayra evaluates and treats clinically diagnosed hypogonadism (testosterone deficiency confirmed by both serum laboratory testing and consistent clinical symptoms) in accordance with current Endocrine Society and American Urological Association clinical practice guidelines.

Testosterone is a Schedule III controlled substance under the federal Controlled Substances Act. Vayra-affiliated physicians are individually DEA-registered in each state in which they prescribe. Vayra complies with the Ryan Haight Online Pharmacy Consumer Protection Act and all applicable state-specific telemedicine requirements for the prescribing of controlled substances. State medical board rules determine whether an in-person physical examination is required prior to a first prescription; you will be advised at intake of any examination requirement specific to your state of residence.

Treatment requires baseline comprehensive labs (total testosterone, free testosterone, SHBG, estradiol, complete blood count, comprehensive metabolic panel, lipid panel, PSA) and ongoing quarterly monitoring. Continuation of therapy is contingent on documented clinical benefit, monitored safety markers (hematocrit, estradiol, PSA), and your physician's ongoing clinical judgment.

Testosterone therapy is contraindicated in patients with active or untreated prostate cancer or breast cancer, severe untreated obstructive sleep apnea, uncontrolled heart failure, polycythemia, or active desire for near-term fertility (testosterone therapy suppresses spermatogenesis). Vayra does not initiate testosterone therapy under any of these conditions and will discuss fertility-preservation protocols where applicable.

Availability of testosterone therapy varies by state based on local medical board rules, telemedicine flexibilities, and supervision requirements. A Vayra physician will confirm availability and the applicable in-person-examination requirement at intake based on your state of residence.

Compounded medications

Compounded medications dispensed by Vayra's affiliated 503A pharmacy partners are prepared by state-licensed compounding pharmacies under section 503A of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Compounded medications are not FDA-approved and the FDA has not evaluated the safety, efficacy, or quality of these preparations as finished products. They are individually prepared for a specific patient based on a valid prescription from a licensed Vayra-affiliated physician.

How Vayra is organized
