- 503A
- A pharmacy compounding category under FDCA §503A. 503A pharmacies prepare patient-specific compounded medications against an individual prescription. Vayra's pharmacy partner is 503A.
- 503B
- An FDA-registered outsourcing facility category under FDCA §503B that compounds in batches under cGMP. Distinct from 503A.
C
- C-SSRS
- Columbia Suicide Severity Rating Scale, a validated screening instrument used in Vayra's Universal Safety Screen at every intake.
- Cohort comparison
- Anonymized peer-trajectory view available in your Vayra portal as part of the Insights Program. Lets you see how your labs are tracking relative to other patients on similar protocols. Read the Insights Program brief
- Compounding
- The preparation of a customized medication by a licensed pharmacist for a specific patient based on a physician's prescription. Vayra uses 503A compounding only when a documented patient-specific clinical difference makes a branded product inappropriate. Read the full disclosure
- Concierge+
- Vayra's premium membership tier ($699/month). Includes monthly clinical reviews, an Annual Optimization Review, unlimited clinical touchpoints, custom-paneled labs, and in-network specialist coordination.

- GAD-2
- Generalized Anxiety Disorder 2-item screener, used alongside PHQ-2 and C-SSRS in Vayra's Universal Safety Screen at every intake.
- GHRH analog
- Growth-hormone-releasing-hormone analog. A class of molecules that trigger pulsatile endogenous growth-hormone release.
- GLP-1
- Glucagon-like peptide-1, a gut-derived incretin. GLP-1 receptor agonists (Wegovy, Ozempic) and dual GIP/GLP-1 agonists (Zepbound, Mounjaro) are central to Vayra's weight optimization program. GLP-1 library
- GnRH analog
- Gonadotropin-releasing-hormone analog. A class of molecules that drive pituitary LH/FSH release.
H
- HHS Safe Harbor
- The Safe Harbor de-identification method under 45 CFR §164.514(b)(2). Removing the 18 specified identifiers and having no actual knowledge of residual identifiability renders data non-PHI under HIPAA.
- HIPAA Treatment exception
- Under 45 CFR §164.506, a covered entity may use and disclose PHI for treatment, payment, and healthcare operations without a separate authorization.
- HPG axis
- Hypothalamic-Pituitary-Gonadal axis — the endogenous endocrine pathway regulating sex hormones. Several Vayra protocols target it when clinically indicated.

- Insights Program
- Vayra's opt-out cohort comparison program. Data flows from normal clinical care, never from research-specific tasks. Care is identical regardless of opt status. Read the brief

- LCMS
- Liquid chromatography mass spectrometry — a high-sensitivity assay used for measuring hormones like estradiol when accuracy matters clinically.
- LegitScript
- A merchant-monitoring program that verifies legitimate healthcare and pharmacy businesses through ongoing audits of clinical and operational practices. Vayra is in the application process for LegitScript Healthcare Merchant certification; no badge appears on this site until certification issues.

- Mounjaro
- The brand name for tirzepatide as FDA-approved for type-2 diabetes (distinct from Zepbound, which is the same molecule approved for chronic weight management). Mounjaro reference

- NP
- Nurse Practitioner. Vayra's clinicians are U.S.-licensed physicians and nurse practitioners; an NP may co-manage your protocol under physician supervision per state scope-of-practice rules.
- NPI
- National Provider Identifier — the unique 10-digit number CMS assigns to a U.S. healthcare provider. Every Vayra prescriber has an NPI on the record.

- Opt-out architecture
- Vayra's Insights Program is opt-out by default. Patients may withdraw at any time without affecting their clinical care.
- Optimize tier
- Vayra's standard-of-care membership tier — designed for patients with moderate symptoms or active-phase treatment. Includes physician relationship, quarterly comprehensive labs, dietitian sessions, and persistent async messaging via the Patient Dashboard.
- Ozempic
- The brand name for semaglutide as FDA-approved for type-2 diabetes (distinct from Wegovy, which is the same molecule approved for chronic weight management). Ozempic reference

- PHQ-2
- Patient Health Questionnaire 2-item screener for depressive symptoms. Used alongside GAD-2 and C-SSRS in Vayra's Universal Safety Screen at every intake.
- Published cash price
- The dispensing pharmacy's published cash price for the medication — what the pharmacy charges for the dispense. Vayra does not add a markup; the pharmacy bills you directly. Branded GLP-1 ships from a separately licensed retail/specialty pharmacy partner; compounded preparations ship from a separately licensed 503A compounding pharmacy partner.
- Published rate
- The dispensing pharmacy's published cash price for a branded medication. Vayra does not add a markup; the pharmacy bills you directly.

- Secondary hypogonadism
- Low testosterone driven by impaired pituitary or hypothalamic signaling rather than primary testicular failure. May be addressed with HPG-axis support when clinically indicated.
- Semaglutide
- The GLP-1 receptor agonist marketed as Wegovy (weight management) and Ozempic (type-2 diabetes). Once-weekly subcutaneous injection.
- SERM
- Selective estrogen receptor modulator. A class of molecules that act as estrogen-receptor agonists in some tissues and antagonists in others.
- Superbill
- An itemized receipt of services that patients can submit to their insurance or HSA/FSA administrator for reimbursement. Vayra provides superbills on request.

- Tirzepatide
- A dual GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonist marketed as Zepbound (weight management and obesity-related OSA) and Mounjaro (type-2 diabetes). Once-weekly subcutaneous injection.

- Universal Safety Screen
- Vayra's structured intake screening using PHQ-2 + GAD-2 + C-SSRS, with red/yellow/green pathway routing and a warm-handoff protocol to 988 when indicated.

- Wegovy
- The brand name for semaglutide as FDA-approved for chronic weight management. Wegovy reference

- Zepbound
